The Times reports the exciting news that Real Ale sales in the UK are climbing according to SIBA.
While crap beer sales fell approx 7.2% in Q2 2008, Real Ale sales have increased 8.1% over the first 6 months.

Again as part of the hunt to find somewhere near Victoria Station ended up visiting the Thomas Cubbitt - which really is more of a bar than a pub.
Saying that, they did have Little Creatures and I’m sure some other excellent beers which makes it worth going back to check it out some more.

Was on the bus this morning re-reading the Independent from yesterday and read an excellent article about the Crown Liquor Saloon in Belfast. Apparently, this pub from the early 1800’s has stood tall through thick and thin with even IRA bombs blasting around it.
